Moss Galls from Gall Wasp Diplolepsis rosae
Moss-like balls on wild Dog Rose (Rosa canina) caused by the small gall wasp Diplolepsis rosae after laying eggs in the leaf buds or stem. The presence of the developing larvae stimulates an abnormal growth commonly called Robin’s Pincushions, Bedeguar Galls or Moss Galls.
